Auto Accident

Have you or a loved one been injured in a car accident?

Auto Accident

Auto accidents can cause many types of injuries, and some of them don’t show up right away. You may think you are fine later during that day, but when you wake up the next morning or a few days later, you feel like you can’t move. Soft tissue injuries like whiplash often don’t appear immediately. It may actually take a week or more before you find yourself with symptoms.

Dr. Wygonski has been treating patients for 10 years who have been in auto accidents. He has years of experience and has attended seminars to help patients recover from their injuries in the shortest time using the least invasive techniques. We have digital x-ray on site to make sure the bones and joints are safe to be adjusted. We work with many practitioners in order to get you the help you need not just for your aches and pains but also for other injuries outside of the spine. Our staff will help guide you through the process of setting up your claim. We want to help take the financial stress away so you can put your focus on getting better. We can bill Med pay, do treatment under a lien with a layer, or bill the at fault auto insurance company. Many times, patients who have been in an auto accident hope that their pain will go away on its own because is it annoying, uncomfortable, and sometimes life altering. A lot of the time the pain does improve compared to the initial pain after the accident. So you get back to your daily routine while ignoring the minor pain that is left. But just like your vehicle after an accident. You can feel that it doesn’t drive the same. (or maybe doesn’t drive at all). However, you don’t have the time, money, or energy to get it fixed. When the repairs are not done the life and function of the vehicle is drastically reduced. The same goes for your body. Even though the pain is not as severe or frequent, if the bones and joints are not aligned then they break down turning into degeneration and arthritis down the road.

Whiplash and other car crash injuries affect the spine. Dr. Wygonski will be able to find any injuries you may have suffered. He is trained to deal with traumatic injuries and make you more comfortable. Seeing a chiropractor after an accident may also make sure your other medical bills are lower. Chiropractic can alleviate many common problems that stem from an accident so you can avoid more invasive treatments.

Whiplash symptoms: Neck pain Shoulder pain Headache Low back pain Blurred vision Difficulty swallowing Ringing in the ears Fatigue or weakness Nausea Dizziness Irritability Vertigo

Chiropractic and Massage Treatments

  1. Reduce inflammation - Inflammation is a common result after a car accident. While some amount of inflammation is normal, too much can cause pain and discomfort. When a chiropractor manipulates your spine to realign the spinal cord, your body may respond by cutting back on its inflammatory cytokine production, which can lower the inflammatory response in your body and reduce pain.
  2. Minimize pain - When you receive chiropractic adjustments and/ or massage after a car accident, you can potentially minimize pain throughout your body.
  3. Restore range of motion - When you are injured in a car accident, your neck or back can lose flexibility. Loss of flexibility can be due to misalignment of the joints in the spine, muscle spasms, development of scar tissue and/or inflammation.
  4. Reduce scar tissue - It is normal for scar tissue to develop after a car accident injury. When muscles or tendons are damaged, the body attempts to heal them by forming scar tissue from collagen. Unfortunately, scar tissue can cause long-term pain and stiffness. In many cases, the tissue will heal on its own and eventually function like normal tissue. However, if it is causing you discomfort, a chiropractor can use specific techniques to break the scar tissue up so the area can heal faster.
  5. Experience non-invasive treatment - Chiropractic treatments are non-invasive and align the spine without surgical intervention. Our goal is to start with less invasive treatments first to see if they alleviate your systems before referring out to our other doctors.
